Cruising with Grief by Nadim Choufi

Bulbuls puffed up or overgrown

gaze on the shoe tracks

coming together in meager furrows

a votive shedding beyond

hitchhiker seeds & what brings it

held by wet shirts alone in flutters

the park’s rim does not end but pulls

into the smaller curls at joints & fixed bones

the draft caught in a tree clips a silverleaf

trying to take flight in the midst

of a flurry there is no shape
